This formula combines PreticX™ XOS (xylooligosaccharide) and BioEcolians® α-GOS (alpha-glucooligosaccharide) to promote short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production and support the growth of Bifidobacteria in the GI tract.
XOS selectively promotes butyrate production, a key energy source for colonocytes, while α-GOS supports propionate production, contributing to glucose homeostasis and satiety.
Cranberry, blueberry, and pomegranate polyphenols are included to further support the growth of beneficial bacteria like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, as well as promote a healthy cytokine balance in the GI tract.
These polyphenols also support the growth of Akkermansia muciniphila, which plays a role in gut barrier function by increasing mucus layer thickness and production of occludin.

Xylooligosaccharides and Bifidobacteria Growth
Research indicates that XOS supplementation selectively promotes the growth of Bifidobacteria strains in the gut, contributing to a healthier gut microbiome composition.
Alpha-Glucooligosaccharides and Gut Comfort
Studies suggest that α-GOS supplementation can improve abdominal comfort, bowel motility, and stool consistency, while also increasing beneficial bacteria like B. longum and B. animalis.
Polyphenols and Gut Microbiome Modulation
Research demonstrates that polyphenols from sources like cranberry, blueberry, and pomegranate can positively influence the gut microbiome, supporting the growth of beneficial bacteria and promoting a healthy cytokine balance.
