  • Multi Enzyme provides a comprehensive blend of Betaine Hydrochloride (HCl), pepsin, and pancreatin to support optimal digestion of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.
  • Betaine HCl enhances gastric acidity, which is crucial for activating pepsin and facilitating the absorption of essential nutrients like vitamin B12, iron, and calcium.
  • The inclusion of porcine-derived pancreatin, a source of amylase, lipase, and protease, aids in breaking down complex carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, respectively, in the small intestine.
  • Unlike some enzyme supplements, Thorne's Multi Enzyme uses undiluted pepsin and pancreatin, avoiding lactose as a diluent, which can be problematic for lactose-sensitive individuals.
  • Supports healthy digestion and nutrient absorption
  • Minimizes occasional gas and bloating
  • Helps maintain bowel regularity
  • Optimizes absorption of vitamins and minerals
  • Supports digestive comfort after antacid use
  • Aids digestion for food sensitivities

  • Hydrochloric Acid and Nutrient Absorption

Studies indicate that adequate gastric acid, facilitated by Betaine HCl, is essential for the proper absorption of several micronutrients, including iron, calcium, and vitamin B12.

  • Pancreatic Enzyme Supplementation

Research suggests that supplemental pancreatic enzymes, such as amylase, lipase, and protease, can improve digestion and nutrient assimilation, particularly in individuals with pancreatic insufficiency.
